I forgot to mention that aMSN works good with this driver. Good means sometimes i need to rmmod and then modprobe gspca_main and gspca_ov519, but in result I am able at least to use the webcam. The Cheese webcam app works good too.
May be related to bug #475623 (ie, kopete not ported to use libv4l seemlessly yet), ie, try to launch kopete via: LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib64/libv4l/v4l1compat.so kopete to confirm.
oops, seems you're i686, you'd need: LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l1compat.so kopete (and make sure libv4l rpm pkg is installed).
I was going to make the same comment as Rex, but I'm a bit too late it seems :)
Thanks, LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l1compat.so kopete did work quite well for kopete. Is there any way to make Kopete behave like that always? And what about Skype?
(In reply to comment #5) > Thanks, > LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l1compat.so kopete > did work quite well for kopete. > Is there any way to make Kopete behave like that always? Yes, its open source, so we can fix it, that is what bug 475623 is about. > And what about Skype? That can be made to work the same way, no way to fix it so that you don't need to do the LD_PRELOAD. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 475623 ***
