Description of problem: I need to consolidate several sheets into a spreadsheet, so I opened a new one. On trying to insert sheet from file, after giving the first few characters of the name of the file, oocalc hangs hard (had to go to alt-F2 and "killall soffice") Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): openoffice.org-calc-3.0.1-14.2.fc11.x86_64 How reproducible: Hang all 3 or 4 times I tried, only sometimes it was possible to kill it via 'x' (and "Force Quit") Steps to Reproduce: 1. oocalc 2. Insert --> Sheet from file... 3. Delete irrelevant text, enter "/t" [hangs here] Actual results: Complete hang Expected results: Complete filename (with directory), and insert it into the spreadsheet Additional info:
Now I tried to open another file from its menu, it also hangs the same way... Also, oocalc is completely unresponsive to its window decoration ('-' doesn't minimize, '+' doesn't maximize, 'x' has no visible effect, can't move the window by grabbing its border)
Same problem as original report with openoffice.org-calc-3.0.1-14.1.fc11.x86_64
I have to assume that we're talking about the file open dialog right ?, i.e. the gnome file dialog that appears on insert->sheet from file ? *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 478358 ***
It is definitely not the same. My above steps still result in a hang, the steps given for 478358 don't.
BTW, if the file is in ~/Documents, I can select and insert sheets just fine. The problem is in selecting a different directory.
nevertheless I strongly suspect gdk_x11_get_server_time as the culprit you can get the pid of the hung process, then do gdb (gdb) attach pid and do a bt, if you see gdk_x11_get_server_time in the trace near the top then that's the clincher
