Description of Problem:
vi can't read/write a plain text file.

How Reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a plain text file with vi command
2. Nothing can be display in vi screen
3. Create a new file with vi,nothing can be write to the new file.

Actual Results:
vi can no read/write a file.

Expected Results:
vi can read and write a file.
