Description John Ellson 2009-03-08 04:08:52 UTC
Description of problem:
Making a small adjustment to gnome-voloume-control-applet causes rhythmbox stream's volume in pavucontrol to drop to zero. Trying to correct the volume in pavucontrol cause the sound to die completely and the gmome-volume-control applet to registers Mute.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
pulseaudio-0.9.15-3.test5.fc11.x86_64
kernel-2.6.29-0.207.rc7.fc11.x86_64
rhythmbox-0.11.6-29.r6176.fc11.x86_64
gnome-applets-2.25.92-1.fc11.x86_64

How reproducible:
100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open pavucontrol->playback
2. run rhythmbox and select Radio -> wbur.org - boston's NPR news source
(A "Rhythmbox: Playback stream" shows in pavucontrol)
3. Increase volume from the gnome-volume-control applet
(The slider in pavucontrol tracks the volume increase, then drops to zero)
4. Touch anything else on the screen.
(Sound dies completely, gnome-volume-control indicates Mute.)

Actual results:
(as above)

Expected results:
gnome-volume-control should control the aggregate output volume.

Additional info:
Terminating Rhythmbox allows pulseaudio/gnome-volume-control to recover.
