I do have the following setting: When a new messages arrive --> Play a sound --> Default system for new e-mail, but no sound is heard when a new message arrives. Paul
I get sound for new mail.
I get sound now, but I still don't see any pop up alerts, should I open a new bug ?
(In reply to comment #2) > I get sound now, but I still don't see any pop up alerts, should I open a new > bug ? What did you do to get sound? I don't ... when I press "Play" button in the Prefences dialog nothing happens and there is no relevant error on stdout/stderr. Jan?
It is worthy to note, that I don't get any sound even with the upstream binary. Keeping the bug here anyway, because it might be some problem with Pulseaudio or some other part of our sound setup.
I had no Thunderbird/sound problem in Fedora 11, but now that I installed Fedora 12, I am having similar problems: (1) pressing "Play" in the preferences dialog plays no sound (though sound is working fine with all other apps); (2) when new mail arrives, I hear a "pop" sound instead of my usual configured sound.
