Description of problem:
Gimp fails to start either by selecting from the gnome menu or when trying via a terminal window

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
2.6.6-6

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Try to start gimp

Actual results:
Nothing. If it's from a menu, the pointer has the animated circle around it, from a command line, still nothing, but has some fatal errors.

Makes no difference if I have prelink installed or not.

Expected results:
Gimp starts, the world turns and my boss gets off my back!

Additional info:
Video card makes no difference (also happens on the laptop which uses an intel chipset and my desktop box using an nVidia card), doesn't seem to be an selinux fault either.
