Description Paul Kennedy 2009-08-06 03:08:28 UTC
Description of problem:
The qdisk man page does not provide procedures for configuring a simple qdisk two-node cluster. Provide a procedure for this; determine best place for it. This request was excerpter from cluster-list email from nstrug.

Things to consider, for example: Can two_node="1" be removed from cluster.conf file?

Reassigned to slevine. Needs evaluation for incorporation into a configuration example document.

Comment 3 Steven J. Levine 2010-06-18 16:38:22 UTC
Just to note a related bit of documentation, for now:

There is currently a document in progress describing the procedure for configuring Oracle HA on Cluster Suite. The software installation chapter includes a section on configuring qdisk.

Comment 5 RHEL Program Management 2010-08-09 18:15:12 UTC
This request was evaluated by Red Hat Product Management for
inclusion in the current release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
Because the affected component is not scheduled to be updated in the
current release, Red Hat is unfortunately unable to address this
request at this time. Red Hat invites you to ask your support
representative to propose this request, if appropriate and relevant,
in the next release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

Comment 6 Steven J. Levine 2011-05-31 18:16:57 UTC
Moving this to RHEL 5.8 for now -- This is definitely not going into RHEl 5.7, it's not currently a priority in terms of what we need to provide, and if we provide it at all it will be for RHEL 6. But for now I'm moving it to RHEL 5.8 so as not to lose this request.

Comment 7 Steven J. Levine 2011-11-01 19:35:57 UTC
Moving to 5.9 -- This is not looking like a priority, but I don't want to lose this.

Comment 9 Steven J. Levine 2013-05-22 19:37:58 UTC
I have moved this bug to RHEL 6, as noted in Comment 6. At this point in the RHEL 5 life cycle it doesn't seem worth devoting the resources to this issue that this requires, but this is an important configuration component so I don't want to kill this completely. This will be covered in RHEL 7 (not for qdisk per se, but configuring a 2-node cluster) and I will look at it again for the RHEL 6 time frame.

So I'm closing this as WONTFIX but that's specifically for RHEL 5.
