Description of problem: After an update, boot hangs. Previous kernel worked, but I suspect it's not a kernel problem per se, just a busted initrd. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): dracut-002-3.git8eb16b08.fc12.noarch kernel-2.6.31-33.fc12.x86_64 How reproducible: Probably synchronous Steps to Reproduce: 1. yum update 2. reboot Actual results: Boot hangs Expected results: Boot proceeds Additional info: Previously working: dracut-001-9.git6f0e469d.fc12.noarch of Sept.14
which lvm version is this?
can you start with "rdinitdebug" added to the kernel command line and make a photo
lvm2-2.02.52-3.fc12.x86_64
Created attachment 362350 [details] screenshot Sorry for the poor quality, I actually selected the best one. Text is readable at maximum resolution.
Coming over here from bug 52519 (livecd not booting). Running rdinitdebug on a live cd from today I get: http://www.scrye.com/~kevin/fedora/livecd-boot-fail-20090923.png Not sure if this is the same issue, or related or not. ;)
Possibly Related: Bug #525319.

The dracut-002-7.gitb9c4654a.fc12.noarch fixed the problem for me. It still prints _everything_ twice, but that's how it was before too.
