Could you please upgrade xorg-x11-server, xorg-x11-drv-ati, mesa, and kernel with packages from koji, and retest? There was a merge of new upstream version of radeon driver in Rawhide, which might fix your problem. Thank you
and please when you try to reproduce it, tell us what version of these packages you have installed, please. Thank you again
Upgraded the following packages: kernel-firmware-2.6.31.4-80.fc12.noarch.rpm kernel-headers-2.6.31.4-80.fc12.i686.rpm kernel-PAE-2.6.31.4-80.fc12.i686.rpm xorg-x11-drv-ati-6.13.0-0.10.20091006git457646d73.fc12.i686.rpm xorg-x11-server-common-1.7.0-3.fc12.i686.rpm xorg-x11-server-Xephyr-1.7.0-3.fc12.i686.rpm xorg-x11-server-Xnest-1.7.0-3.fc12.i686.rpm xorg-x11-server-Xorg-1.7.0-3.fc12.i686.rpm Didn't touch mesa as the latest in koji is mesa-7.6-0.13.fc12 ajax 2009-09-21 21:32:47 which I already have. I'm rebooting, will let you know how it goes...
Well I'm afraid to say I still see corruptions...

There's one interesting behaviour when I change the font rendering options under the "Appearance Preferences" dialog box. For instance, right now I have 'subpixel smoothing' enabled and in my gnome bar, the title entry for this firefox window is barely readable. Now if I switch to 'Best shapes' (or any other), corruption disappears. But if I switch back to 'subpixel smoothing' it comes back up. Well I guess it's not just a matter of font corruption: I just restarted the 'Appearance Preferences' program again and the background color of the app was all black...
