The webcam works okay in Ekiga at various different resolutions, so I guess it's not a problem with the device.
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 12 development cycle. Changing version to '12'. More information and reason for this action is here: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/HouseKeeping

bt points to unicapgtk_video_display_set_pause(), which calls ugtk->backend_get_image_data() before calling ugtk->backend_lock() first. Is the locking performed elsewhere? I haven't yet looked with a debugger...
Created attachment 399673 [details] patch for testing purposes I am unable to reproduce the crash. Could you please try the attached patch? I've also prepared a scratch build with the patch applied: http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=2049148

I don't know whether the suggested patch works, because ucview already segfaults here when pressing recording (Fedora 12, i686).
Robert, could you please attach a backtrace with debuginfo from the crash? Thanks in advance! Your description recalled me bug 572966 - a patch is also attached there.
