Thanks for the bug report. We have reviewed the information you have provided above, and there is some additional information we require that will be helpful in our diagnosis of this issue.

First of all, could we get output of the command

rpm -qa *xulrun* *firefox* *mozilla* *flash* *plugin*

Please also install firefox-debuginfo (debuginfo-install is from yum-utils package).

    debuginfo-install firefox

When these crashes happen, does abrt collect backtrace? Have not you filed these backtraces to our Bugzilla already?

We will review this issue again once you've had a chance to attach this information.

Thanks in advance.

-bash-4.0$ rpm -qa *xulrun* *firefox* *mozilla* *flash* *plugin*
mozilla-vlc-1.0.3-1.fc12.i686
firefox-3.6.1-0.2.b3.fc13.i686
mozilla-filesystem-1.9-5.fc12.i686
xulrunner-1.9.2.1-0.2.b3.fc13.i686
xulrunner-devel-1.9.2.1-0.2.b3.fc13.i686

I don't believe I have abrt running right now.
I won't be at that machine again until tonight. I'll look at getting more information late tonight or tomorrow.

Comment 3 Bruno Wolff III 2009-11-20 15:53:40 UTC
I actually had something with 'plugin' in the name in the directory I ran the suggested command from. So that it didn't run as expected. If that is a form message, you might want to add quoting to it.
Anyway here is output that makes more sense:
-bash-4.0$ rpm -qa '*xulrun*' '*firefox*' '*mozilla*' '*flash*' '*plugin*'

You really don't have flash player installed, or you have libflashplyaer.so in your personal profile? I would suggest to install nspluginwrapper and flash-plugin package from yum repository on http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/thankyou/?installer=Flash_Player_10_for_Linux_(YUM)

Does it help?

Comment 5 Matěj Cepl 2009-11-20 17:57:40 UTC
Also abrt might be helpful (install abrt\*, chkconfig abrtd on; service abrtd start; and in your desktop session abrt-applet&) ... in case next time your firefox crashes we will at least get a good backtrace with some degree of probability and we will be able to investigate further.

Comment 6 Bruno Wolff III 2009-11-20 18:06:05 UTC
For a number of reasons (closed protocol, security issues, Dmitry Sklyarov, etc.) I don't like flash and I don't have a flash player installed. For a while I had the free plugins (gnash and the other one) installed but disabled, but then firefox started reenabling disabled plugins (bug 491543) and I had to uninstall them.
I'll do the abrt stuff. I figured there was a good chance that it was something other people would be seeing and it wouldn't be needed. It got to be late enough last night that I didn't want to do it then.

Comment 7 Matěj Cepl 2009-11-20 18:19:40 UTC
Maybe you have friends at bug 523439

Comment 8 Matěj Cepl 2009-11-20 18:20:25 UTC
Sorry, forget the last comment, that is explicitly not for Firefox.

Comment 9 Bruno Wolff III 2009-11-21 00:02:48 UTC
It looks like this got fixed. I applied last nights rawhide changes this afternoon (including a xulrunner one) and I am not seeing crashes now.
So I am going to close this one as fixed in rawhide.
