Description of problem:
With the latest Xorg update I'm seeing corrupted display of transparent panels in GNOME.  See screenshot.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
xorg-x11-server-Xorg-1.7.4-1.fc12.x86_64

In that screenshot I had added "hide" buttons to the panel, hidden it, redisplayed it, and removed the hide buttons.

Downgrading to xorg-x11-server-Xorg-1.7.1-7.fc12 works around it.

Could you test with builds from Koji to check if xorg-x11-server-Xorg-1.7.3-3 is the first bad version? That would be consistent with bug 552741.

Confirmed.  1.7.3-2 works; 1.7.3-3 fails.
