Another reporter mentioned experiencing this on the thread "Testing request: latest F12 xorg-x11-server build" on f-t-l I assumed that he would have filed a bug report at that time since I confirmed it which I guess he never did.. He has Nvidia GeForce 9400 card I've asked testers with Nvidia cards to set there panels to transparent and report back either here or on the Testing highlight thread on -f-t-l which cards they have and if it works or not. ( you wont notice this if the panels are set to solid colours ).

Bar background corruption

I can reproduce this behaviour in my HP Pavilion dv6448se, with:

AMD Turion(tm) 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-56 800MHz
nVidia Corporation C51 [Geforce 6150 Go] (rev a2)
nouveau 0.0.15-18.20091105gite1c2efd.fc12

with the latest packages applied from testing (available today):
sudo yum --enablerepo=updates-testing update xorg\* libdrm\* mesa\* plymouth\*

I have the same problem on a GeForce 6150. The display corruption mainly happens on icons and background images. I'll upload a screenshot to the bug report.

Screenshot of the display corruption

Common issues:
- Wrong font or font color
- Corrupted icons (filled with random noise)
- Corrupted backgrounds (filled with random noise)

Mousing over the icons or refreshing the window usually causes the corruption to disappear.

Comment 6 Ben Skeggs 2010-01-14 05:21:24 UTC
Clinton, your bug is not the same issue. Also, please don't post all this in multiple bugs!! I've already seen this in your original bug report...

I'm seeing the same issue with a Radeon RS690M, driver "radeon" with KMS. And I found the very same xorg-x11-server-Xorg version is to blame.

The changelog says:
* Thu Dec 17 2009 Dave Airlie <airlied> 1.7.3-3
- backport EXA fixes from master, should fix xfig crashes X server

Changing component to xorg-x11-server, because people with ATI cards (at least Tim Waugh and I) can reproduce it too with the same xorg-x11-server-Xorg versions.

Comment 10 Michal Schmidt 2010-01-21 09:39:01 UTC
The bug is reported at http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=26076.
Maarten Maathuis suggested a workaround (http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=26076#c5) which I applied in this scratch build here:
http://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org/scratch/michich/task_1934138/
It works for me.
