Could you explain how the stylus is configured on this machine? I'm not familiar with this sort of setup, and can't even find the stylus in the smolt information.

Does the stylus work to select items in GTK+ menus?

Xorg.0.log from LT20 laptop

The stylus is automatically configured from xorg-x11-drv-wacom. I included xorg.0.log.

The stylus input only works inside gnome-shell desktop, not the panel nor the sidebar.

An answer to this would be appreciated. (What I'm asking is whether it works to select a menu item like "File/Open" in an application like gedit.)

Yes, it does.

After thinking about this a bit, this probably has nothing to do with your stylus and is instead a graphics driver bug. (Clutter draws an offscreen copy of the scene to find out what object is under the cursor, and the way it does it often triggers graphics drivers bug.)

And in fact, we already have a bug open for the Intel 855 about this, so I'll mark this as a duplicate. I do appreciate you taking the time to report the problem.

Good to know. I will follow report on #521714 until Clutter bug is fixed.
