Description Matěj Cepl 2010-01-24 00:23:00 UTC
Created attachment 386391 [details]
output of tar tvf jbrout.tar.bz2

Description of problem:
Upstream official tarball (albeit obsolete) at http://jbrout.free.fr/download/sources/jbrout_0.3.174.tar.gz has 396k, our src.rpm has 50+MB !
One quick look into the attached list of the packaged tarball of jbrout explains why. There is incredible amount of silly stuff there:

- couple of whole .svn trees (use svn export instead of svn checkout)
- it seems we have duplicities of whole tree (directorieslike jbrout/jbrout/jbrout/ doesn't make me feel persuaded)
- whole jbrout/dist hierarchy is probably useless (there is complete Gtk+ and python included for Windows!!!)

It would be better if the comment over Source: field sounded like

# Source tarball was created based on the export from SVN
# (http://jbrout.googlecode.com/svn/trunk, revision 270),
# and then processed with the attached script ...

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
jbrout-0.3.211-20091105svn270.1

Size is nice (172k instead of 50+M!) and it seems to work well.
