F12 is blocked in the starting of the X-Windows when update to newest kernels.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:
Basically update F12.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Initial install F12 with basic video (without nouveau) and without update in the intallation process from repositories - Kernel 2.6.31.5-127. Work fine.
2.Install akmod-nvidia and kmod-nvidia for current kernel from fedora repositories. Work fine
3.Restart
4.Update from fedora repositories (Fedora x86_64 and RPM Fusion). Install 2.6.32.9-70 kernel and akmod/kmod 195.36.08-1 for nvidia driver.
5.Try boot with last kernel install. F12 is blocked.

xorg.conf

This is the xorg.conf used in both kernels (3.6.31.5-127 and 3.6.32.9-70)

I have other system work fine with the last kernel (2.6.32.9-70) and last driver NVIDIA (195.36.08-1), used the same install procedure and updates.
The system is:

DELL precision 380 with NVIDIA Quadro FX 570 (dual screen).

Xorg.0.log

Same problem here:

- kernel 2.6.32.9-70.fc12.x86_64
- nvidia driver 195.36.08-1
- SELinux disabled
- nvidia 9500GT

Comment 9 Lui 2010-03-16 00:07:09 UTC
Today I apply new updates from fedora repositories:

Among this updates, news changes: nvidia driver 195.36.08-1 no more exists and it show nvidia drivers 190.53.3 (akmod and kmod for kernel 2.6.31.5-127 / 2.6.32.9-70).

Same problem with kernel 2.6.32.9-70. With kernel 2.6.31.5-127 work fine.

Can the OP attach the contents of /var/log/messages? is it similar to what's provided here: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=589007 ?

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=481356
https://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-test-list/2009-January/msg00380.html

My box seems to load latest kernel and nvidia modules fine with intel_iommu=off as kernel option in grub.
