Description of problem:
I have this meesage each time I execute the command :
/etc/cron.daily/tmpwatch under root user (cron or interactive)
I have the package : tmpwatch-2.8-0.7.x
and ls -al /etc/mtab 
-rw-r--r--    1 root     root          965 dic  4 16:41 /etc/mtab
I have the same problem on several linux computers on rh7.1

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. execute /etc/cron.daily/tmpwatch
2.
3.
	

Actual Results:  error: failed to open /etc/mtab for reading

Additional info:

I try to be up-to-date with redhat errata packages
