Thank you for taking the time to report this issue to us. This is an issue which is best addressed by the upstream developers. Please file a report at https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?group=gnash (the upstream Gnash bug tracker), and when done add the upstream report info to this report. (Unfortunately, the automated abrt tool cannot do this by itself.) We will continue to track the issue in the centralized upstream bug tracker, and will review any bug fixes that become available for consideration in future updates. Thank you for the bug report.

Did this bug report have been filed upstream ? If so, could you add it in the external bug report field?
Er, the crash happened on http://www.cbc.ca/politics/insidepolitics/2010/04/guergisjafferwatch-and-that-prime-minister-is-how-you-submit-an-official-request-to-the-ethics-commi.html when the webpage was loading.
Comment ----- Indeed, it seems reproductible for me (trying to access the page in the comment above) gnash-0.8.7-1.fc12.x86_64
https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?29477 Produce the same output for me.
The backtrace you attached to that upstream bug is completely different from the backtrace attached here by the original reporter.
Well, ABRT CC'ed me to this bug report, i _SHOULD_ have looked at the output of bug report, my bad.
It's a problem with our partial AVM2 support, which was enabled by default for 0.8.7. You can build Gnash with this disabled by configuring with --disable-avm2. Gnash's AVM2 support is primarily debug and tracing oriented for now, so you probably wouldn't notice a difference. But in this case, that swf file attempts to set a read-only variable in avm2, which we'll have to look into. It still fails with trunk. The abort() was triggered by this error, classically with the code comment "don't know if this is the right thing to do" for it. :-) I can comment out the abort, but then it doesn't crash, but of course doesn't work as it uses AVM2 functionality we don't have yet. It's a work in progress...
*** Bug 592412 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
I'm updating our packages to 0.8.8 which disables AVM2 by default.
