I had gallery2 working and upgraded to the latest apache and php gallery would show white schreens when trying to perform things like maintenance or picture rotation. I setup php to show all errors and it shows none, but appache kept showing seg fault errors. I then yum downgraded php and then gallery showed a "Error" on pages. I tried phpMyAdmin and notice it was now longer there (because of the downgrade) so I yum installed phpMyAdmin again but it updated php again and I had the same problem with Gallery so I then yum downgraded again this time downgrading phpMyAdmin and had to downgrade php-mbstring php-mysql php-mcrypt php-pdo with it. Once I did that I no longer have seg faults and php is happy.
If you have things working again, which versions of php* and httpd* are you using?
At the time I just used yum to downgrade and these are the packages I have. phpMyAdmin-3.2.2.1-1.fc12.noarch php-mysql-5.3.0-6.fc12.x86_64 php-mcrypt-5.3.0-6.fc12.x86_64 php-5.3.0-6.fc12.x86_64 php-Smarty-2.6.26-1.fc12.noarch php-pdo-5.3.0-6.fc12.x86_64 php-common-5.3.0-6.fc12.x86_64 php-cli-5.3.0-6.fc12.x86_64 php-mbstring-5.3.0-6.fc12.x86_64 gallery2-httpauth-2.3.1-1.fc12.noarch httpd-2.2.13-4.fc12.x86_64 python-httplib2-0.4.0-4.fc12.noarch httpd-tools-2.2.13-4.fc12.x86_64
Same issue with gallery2, so close this one as duplicate *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 580236 ***
