Description Kevin Wolf 2010-04-09 10:51:40 UTC
Description of problem:
When I switch to a thunderbird tab, its content is completely scrolled up so that I see the first line of a mail, even though I had scrolled down previously. This makes it very nasty to look up things in another mail while reading a long mail, because each time you lose your current position in the long mail.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
3.0.4

How reproducible:
100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a long mail in a new tab
2. Scroll down in that mail
3. Switch to another tab
4. Switch back to the tab of the long mail

Actual results:
The start of the long mail is displayed.

Expected results:
The old position is retained and the mail is displayed at the same position as it was when I left the tab.

easily reproducable

Comment 2 Sebastian Krämer 2010-11-03 13:44:31 UTC
I noticed that too.
It's still there in TB 3.1.6/f14.

Comment 3 Bug Zapper 2010-11-03 17:31:34 UTC
This message is a reminder that Fedora 12 is nearing its end of life.
Approximately 30 (thirty) days from now Fedora will stop maintaining
and issuing updates for Fedora 12. It is Fedora's policy to close all
bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time
this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora
'version' of '12'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 12's end of life.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that
we may not be able to fix it before Fedora 12 is end of life. If you
would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it
against a later version of Fedora please change the 'version' of this
bug to the applicable version. If you are unable to change the version,
please add a comment here and someone will do it for you.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

The process we are following is described here:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/HouseKeeping

Comment 4 Sebastian Krämer 2010-11-03 18:13:02 UTC
Yes, please, change the version number accordingly, the bug is still there.

Comment 5 Kevin Wolf 2010-11-05 09:13:14 UTC
Haven't tested it myself on newer versions yet, but changing the version number to F14 according to Sebastian's comments.

Comment 6 Jan Horak 2012-04-19 14:30:42 UTC
I can still see it.
Looks like upstream bug: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=487386
We're going to track this bug in upstream.
