Description Fabian Deutsch 2010-05-19 19:37:23 UTC
As far as I know (and it has been discussed on irc), libvpx (http://www.webmproject.org/) needs to be packaged if we want gstreamer to support vp8.

Currently libvpx uses a custom build system which does not speed up the packaging process.

A very clean solution would be - from a packaging point of view - to port the custom build system to autotools. But this needs to be discussed with upstream.

Moving this to the gstreamer component for now because gstreamer-plugins is very outdated and it isn't right for "Package reviews" yet.

Other than that, yes someone needs to package it with their weird build system.

Nice.

I'm closing this bug as there is already the above review request.
