Created attachment 430089 [details] composite patch of upstream r422731, r422736, r422739, r423940, r424759, r424950, r425109, r426790, r426791, r426793, r426795, r416165, r426799 Description of problem: Errors are being seen in apache proxy logs from httpd.x86_64 2.2.3-43.el5 Red Hat package installed and configured to use mod_deflate and mod_proxy. ([Wed Jun 23 18:42:37 2010] [error] [client 10.7.240.14] Inflate error -5 on flush). I believe these errors are causing one of our products to throw exceptions when receiving SOAP messages from a remote vendor. The same SOAP messages are received without errors on RHEL 3.9 32-bit platforms, so it does not appear to be the vendor causing the errors. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): httpd-2.2.3-43.el5 Additional info: This appears to be another variation of upstream 39854. Unlike BZ#593715 which only requires the first changeset to resolve the problem this issue requires all the listed changes in order up to and including r426799.
Rebasing mod_deflate to the current 2.2.x level seems sensible to solve both this and bug 593715.
