I just closed the browser from the File -> Quit menu option, and ABRT reported a crash. I was viewing phpMyAdmin as well as a Moodle 2.0 development instance I run on my own machine.

Did nothing special for as far as I know. Happens several times a day. Perhaps one of the plugins is the problem, or the fact that I'm still using the Seamonkey-profile from my Fedora12 install (didn't format /home)

Just opened Seamonkey (web browser), googled a bit, and opened a few pages, overall a couple of minutes, nothing special. Then, upon closing the window this crash happened.

Comment 8 Zing 2010-08-17 23:03:24 UTC
I've been packaging up seamonkey with a backported patch someone did on mozilla bugzilla here since F13 was released:

http://shishz.fedorapeople.org/

YMMV, but it stabilizes seamonkey for me.

I have been seeing many Seamonkey crashes on many sites since switching to Fedora 13, often shortly after closing a tab. Another common one seems to be crashing while I drag the scrollbar for long periods of time while reading long pages. I think the only extensions I have enabled are gnash and noscript from the Fedora repo.

Comment 18 Mason 2010-08-26 07:32:06 UTC
I've installed no additional Add-ons. The only ones listed by the manager are ChatZilla, DOM Inspector, and JavaScript Debugger.

Is the Mozilla Crash Reporter disabled in Fedora builds? (about:crashes returns URL cannot be loaded)

Comment 19 Mason 2010-08-26 08:47:40 UTC
As far as I can tell, this bug, along with approximately 50 other similar bug reports, is a dupe of bug 602437 (for which Samuel Sieb proposed a patch two months ago).

I was clearing private data. Just when I thought it would be done, Seamonkey crashed.

Comment 23 Mason 2010-10-03 09:18:41 UTC
FYI, seamonkey-2.0.8-1.fc13 was built on Wed, 22 Sep 2010 14:19:24 UTC.

Those willing and able to test the new build should comment in Bodhi.
https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/seamonkey-2.0.8-1.fc13

Apologies for ruining the suspense: this build crashes exactly like every other, which is completely expected, since nothing has been done, as far as I can tell, to address the issue. (I'd be happy to be proven wrong.)

The problem is well-understood by now.

cf. Fedora bug 602437 and the upstream Mozilla bug report
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=522635

The simple work-around is to build Seamonkey with --disable-system-cairo

Comment 25 Bug Zapper 2011-06-01 12:43:45 UTC
This message is a reminder that Fedora 13 is nearing its end of life.
Approximately 30 (thirty) days from now Fedora will stop maintaining
and issuing updates for Fedora 13. It is Fedora's policy to close all
bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time
this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora
'version' of '13'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 13's end of life.

Bug Reporter: Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that
we may not be able to fix it before Fedora 13 is end of life. If you
would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it
against a later version of Fedora please change the 'version' of this
bug to the applicable version. If you are unable to change the version,
please add a comment here and someone will do it for you.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

The process we are following is described here:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/HouseKeeping

Comment 26 Bug Zapper 2011-06-29 12:54:36 UTC
Fedora 13 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2011-06-25. Fedora 13 is
no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further
security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of
Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
