+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #568388 ++

This BZ is created to include the following two changes to be2net in RH 5.6 :

1. Automatically assign MAC addresses to VFs when created.  Without this change SR IOV support in be2net cannot be used since RH 5.6 does not have the ndos for assigning VF MAC address and BE does not have MAC addresses for VFs in the EEPROM.

2. Remove a bad assert that could trigger at under some conditions.

Both these patches are submitted to upstream.
