Partitions on the machines HDD

Description of problem:
I run the preupgrade command on an F13 x86_64 notebook. Preupgrade downloaded all the packages and I rebooted the laptop once the program told me to. The installation got stuck at the very beginning with a window showing "Examining storage devices". The installation does not continue (I waited 20min).

The only storage devices are the HDD and the DVD Reader/ Writer (which was empty).

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Upgrade from F13 to F14 Beta

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Run preupgrade
2. Reboot

Actual results:
Installation never proceeds beyond the window "Examining storage devices"

Expected results:
Installation continues

Comment 1 Chris Lumens 2010-10-03 03:15:52 UTC
Is the machine still responsive? If you can change to tty2 (ctrl-alt-f2), can you grab /tmp/anaconda.log, /tmp/storage.log, and /tmp/program.log and attach them to this bug report?

It is possible to switch to tty2. I attached the log files.
