RHEL5.6 Include DL580 G7 in bfsort whitelist [rhel-5.4.z]
Last modified: 2015-05-04 21:21:39 EDT
This bug has been copied from bug #644879 and has been proposed to be backported to 5.4 z-stream (EUS).
in kernel-2.6.18-164.30.1.el5 linux-2.6-pci-include-dl580-g7-in-bfsort-whitelist.patch
HP has verified that the 2.6.18-230.el5.x86_64.rpm kernel correctly applies bfsort to DL580 G7.
Some DL580 G7 systems have the following in DMI: System Information Manufacturer: Hewlett-Packard Product Name: ProLiant DL580 G7 The patch needs to be re-worked with another entry; { .callback = set_bf_sort, .ident = "Hewlett-Packard ProLiant DL580 G7", .matches = { DMI_MATCH(DMI_SYS_VENDOR, "Hewlett-Packard"), DMI_MATCH(DMI_PRODUCT_NAME, "ProLiant DL580 G7"), }, },
Matt, I don't think that's necessary, since the DL580 G7 is a very recently announced product with a critical BIOS update scheduled for release this Friday, Nov 19, that includes the correct DMI vendor id string. DL580 G7 customers who have had problems with device enumeration have been advised to upgrade the BIOS.
