Adding python maintainer here. I think this is a 2.7 python issue and perhaps he can shed some light.

This looks like a duplicate of bug 652368 (bad interaction with PyCObject deprecation, pygtk2, and whaawmp's usage of Python's "warnings" module, I think). It should be workaroundable in whaawmp.
