Does it help if you remove ~/.openoffice.org/3/user/extensions ?
Yep. That "fixes" the crash (but I don't know just what functionality I've removed, if anything).
None at all. That dir contains only autogenerated data. It will just be recreated on the next start. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 649310 ***
