The system is running, because I can make a telnet and a "ps aux" show:

root 843 40.6 10.0 33060 12748 ? R 23:15 1:15 /usr/X11R6/bin/X
-auth /var/run/xauth/A:0-OZoYXr

I have an ATI Technologies Inc Rage 128 PF/PRO AGP 4x TMDS card. And had same
problem. Removing those lines from the XF86Config-4 file worked for me too. But
would like to have a solution for it early, as not having GL support may be
troublesome.

Comment 8 Mike A. Harris 2002-07-23 09:34:10 UTC
I believe this is fixed in rawhide with patch:
    XFree86-4.2.0-ati-r128-Xv-dma-fix.patch

..and is a dupe of bug #64503,#68058,#68668

Please confirm if rawhide X works or not.

Comment 9 Mike A. Harris 2002-07-23 09:36:54 UTC
Actually, I'm pretty sure this is a dupe now after rereading those
reports.

Closing as dupe, fixed in rawhide.
