Description Sergio Basto 2011-03-02 23:39:22 UTC
+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #648055 +++

For contact with image the tooltip is partially showed outside the pidgin window

Description of problem:
Tooltips that show contact information in Pidgin are not displayed correctly. If the contact has an image the tooltip is only partially showed, however if there is no image for the contact the tooltip is correctly.

I had the same problem with F13, after upgrading to F14 I still have the same problem.

With qtcurve-gtk2-1.8.5-2.fc14, problem with rounded tooltips in pidgin still exist, now just show the photo and don't show any info or background.

Steps to Reproduce:
On kde -> system settings -> application appearance -> style change style to
GTK+ Style, then click on the Configure button on the right.
In the configuration window set the "do not round corners for - tooltips" (is under the "rounding" tab) and click ok.
When you return to kde -> system settings -> application appearance -> style
you can change back to Oxygen or whatever style you have before the change, or
simply don't apply changes on exit (changes for the gtk+ theme are applied
anyway).

Additional info:
Sorry for my weak English, but I lost many hours, to figure out what happen with my upgrades. yeah I though has an upgrade problem with old configurations, I had clean all directory and done many experiences.
And finally I found someone with same problem and the problem itself.
Since qtcurve is the default for kde themes, many people can suffer the same problem.
So disable the rounding tooltips is not the solution IMHO

Others problems, can be related to this ...

on F15 updated the problem still present, can't have rounded corners on tooptips of pidgin , when desktop is kde , and sometimes systray icons appears smaller or bigger , not often but some time to time.

nm-applet disappears on systray

Example, which I suspect is related with qtcurve-gtk2, since just happens on gtk apps

after kill and run again nm-applet

after a restart things went well .

Comment 5 Rex Dieter 2011-06-30 17:39:59 UTC
nm-applet not displaying systray-icons in kde is a separate issue (it's not limited to using qtcurve).

Comment 6 Rex Dieter 2011-06-30 17:40:57 UTC
Fwiw, we switched f15/kde default gtk theme to oxygen-gtk too, I'd suggest trying that instead.

yes, after switch from qtcurve-gtk to oxygen-gtk , still have the,
nm-applet and pidgin not displaying systray-icons in kde.

So If you know where I can find more info about icons not displayed, I will be grateful .

Second , closing this bug with WONTFIX, because don't see a solution and I won't test it again.
