Description Dan Beard 2011-04-14 20:41:07 UTC
Description of problem: Panel applet to power off results in dialog, then GDM. GDM power off or restart fails with a recycle of GDM. Pressing the power button either presents a dialog asking if you want to log out, which then recycles GDM, or suspends computer. ctrl+alt+del does nothing. Battery must be pulled to shut completely down.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Unknown. The machine was running fine until completing today's batch of updates. I have now shut it down and will not boot back into fedora 15 until we are ready to pursue this problem to a working conclusion. At that time, or once I receive an email from this bug, I will attempt to gather more info for you if you give me precise instructions on what you want and how to get it.

How reproducible: Boot up, attempt to shut down.

Do you have selinux-policy*-3.9.16-14.fc15? If so, this may be a duplicate of bug 695789 / bug 695818.

Comment 2 Dan Beard 2011-04-15 02:57:10 UTC
Ayup. 3.9.16-14.fc15.

It's a dupe. I'll let you tie a ribbon on it. Thanks for sorting it, Andre.

Comment 3 Dan Beard 2011-04-15 14:48:50 UTC
Updated SELinux policy fixed it. Closing it myself, then.

Huh, it's too hard... Ctrl-Alt-F2, and login root.

shutdown -h now

command work. But this problem is solved latest selinux-policy package.

*Sigh!*

Kinda wondering what you're trying to accomplish here?

Comment 6 rvcsaba 2011-04-15 17:51:00 UTC
(Removing the battery may cause data loss.

shutdown -h now

command correct workaround.)
