comment:
:* Plugged the iomega eGo BlackBelt Portable Hard Drive on the USB 3.0 port
:* a few seconds later the general protection fault takes place
:* See https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=708361
:* No Virtualox module loaded
:* plugging it in USB 2 works fine
:* some months ago tested with a clean Ubuntu default installation and their kernel had the same issue (I didn't report the issue with them, as I'm no Ubuntu user)

Are you still seeing this with the 2.6.41.x updates?

Try blacklisting the uas driver.

this worked :)

I get a continous warning from the xhci_hcd driver

xhci_hcd 0000:02:00.0: WARN: Stalled endpoint

dmesg log, usb3 now working

Comment 11 Chuck Ebbert 2011-12-06 21:00:54 UTC
Can we get the output of "lspci -vvv" for the USB3 controller(s) causing the problem? Run that as root and just post the output for the USB3 controller.

I've disabled the driver for the next kernel build.

Note: not closing as a dup since this bug is different from bug 717633.

This is harmless - the message will be eliminated soon.
