Description of problem: After the PackageKit update to 0.6.21-1.fc16 I am getting an unnecessary "The software is not from a trusted source" password popup on multiple systems. Yum does not complain about anything like this if I use it directly. There is also a thread about this on the users mailing list: https://lists.fedoraproject.org/pipermail/users/2012-January/411694.html Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): PackageKit-0.6.21-1.fc16.i686
I can confirm this issue with the last three update pushes. PackageKit states the software is not from a trusted source and asks for admin credentials. Using yum there is no warning at all. Here is some output from yum: ------------- # yum update Loaded plugins: langpacks, presto, refresh-packagekit Setting up Update Process Resolving Dependencies --> Running transaction check ---> Package gnome-games.x86_64 1:3.2.1-2.fc16 will be updated ---> Package gnome-games.x86_64 1:3.2.1-3.fc16 will be an update ---> Package gnome-games-help.noarch 1:3.2.1-2.fc16 will be updated ---> Package gnome-games-help.noarch 1:3.2.1-3.fc16 will be an update ---> Package libpurple.x86_64 0:2.10.0-3.fc16 will be updated ---> Package libpurple.x86_64 0:2.10.1-1.fc16 will be an update ---> Package xorg-x11-drv-wacom.x86_64 0:0.11.99-4.20110527.fc16 will be updated ---> Package xorg-x11-drv-wacom.x86_64 0:0.12.0-1.fc16 will be an update --> Finished Dependency Resolution Dependencies Resolved ================================================================================ Package Arch Version Repository Size ================================================================================ Updating: gnome-games x86_64 1:3.2.1-3.fc16 updates 2.2 M gnome-games-help noarch 1:3.2.1-3.fc16 updates 18 M libpurple x86_64 2.10.1-1.fc16 updates 5.4 M xorg-x11-drv-wacom x86_64 0.12.0-1.fc16 updates 222 k Transaction Summary ================================================================================ Upgrade 4 Packages Total download size: 26 M Is this ok [y/N]: -------------- It was mentioned on the mailing list this might be an issue with RPMFusion, but there are no packages from that repo listed. I also have the issue. I am using RPMFusion, however none of the packages being updated come from there. YUM doesn't give me a warning.
