Xorg.0.log from guest with broken xorg-x11-drv-evdev package

Description of problem:

Updating to xorg-x11-drv-evdev-2.6.99.901-5.20120118git9d9c9870c.fc16.i686 causes the mouse to stop working inside a F16 KVM guest running with the cirrus video driver, VNC display, and USB Tablet for mouse input. The mouse pointer appears, but there is no way to cause cursor movement or click.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
xorg-x11-drv-evdev-2.6.99.901-5.20120118git9d9c9870c.fc16.i686

How reproducible:
always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create or use a F16 KVM guest with a VNC display and cirrus video
2. Update the guest to the broken xorg-x11-drv-evdev package.
3. Note that mouse no longer works in virt-manager/virt-viewer or direclty via VNC.

Actual results:
No mouse movement.

Expected results:
Working mouse.

thanks. fwiw that's actually an upstream issue unrelated to Bug 760437 which triggered the update. I'll look into it

Comment 5 Peter Hutterer 2012-01-25 06:27:27 UTC
Actually, I was wrong, it was the fix for Bug 760437 which triggered it. the tablet has a combination of relative/absolute axes that was mishandled. patch coming up in a minute

Comment 7 Frank Murphy 2012-01-25 08:02:00 UTC
Is the update primarily for the host or guest?
As I have F15\F17(Rawhide) guests with the same symptoms
xmvga\vnc
(as I find spice gives a small windowed console,
until Desktop starts in the guest)

Comment 8 Frank Murphy 2012-01-25 08:33:35 UTC
Tested with Spice and above update in host and F16 guests,
still disappearing mouse.
Mouse will stay if kept on full-screen,
and away from top of guest.
All guest graphics tested. Same result.

Adding\removing tablet in guest hardware, no difference.
No option to remove mouse and test with tablet only.

Forget this, maybe a spice or gpm problem.
Apologies for noise.
