Red Hat Satellite engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on Satellite to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs will be migrated starting at the end of May. If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/SAT-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description Jay Greguske 2012-02-09 22:21:26 UTC
Description of problem:

(System Engine does not have a "Distribution" or "Releng" component so I picked candlepin)

A repoclosure on the latest SE repo produces the following output:

package: candlepin-jboss-0.5.17-1.el6.noarch from file:///mnt/redhat/test/CloudForms/1.0-beta/2012-02-09.5/mash/se-rhel-6-override/x86_64
  unresolved deps:
     jbossas >= 0:4.3
package: jboss-ejb-3.0-api-5.0.1-2.9.el6.noarch from file:///mnt/redhat/test/CloudForms/1.0-beta/2012-02-09.5/mash/se-rhel-6-override/x86_64

     jaf_1_0_2_api
package: ruby-json-gui-1.4.6-3.el6.x86_64 from file:///mnt/redhat/test/CloudForms/1.0-beta/2012-02-09.5/mash/se-rhel-6-override/x86_64
  unresolved deps:
     ruby(gtk2)
package: rubygem-aws-2.4.2-2.1.el6_0.noarch from file:///mnt/redhat/test/CloudForms/1.0-beta/2012-02-09.5/mash/se-rhel-6-override/x86_64
  unresolved deps:
     rubygem(right_http_connection)
package: rubygem-json-gui-1.4.6-3.el6.x86_64 from file:///mnt/redhat/test/CloudForms/1.0-beta/2012-02-09.5/mash/se-rhel-6-override/x86_64
  unresolved deps:
     ruby(gtk2)

I suspect some of these are included just for the sake of building other packages, so I'm not sure we need all of them in the release, but I wanted to raise the concern and get some visibility.

Comment 3 Bryan Kearney 2012-04-27 17:03:05 UTC
package fun for 1.0.z should fix all these issues.

Comment 4 Bryan Kearney 2012-06-01 19:08:07 UTC
Fixed in the 0.6.X branch of candlepin.

Comment 7 James Laska 2012-06-20 12:55:58 UTC
Can someone clarify the intent of this bug report? The initial description notes there are repoclosure problems with a previous CloudForms SE puddle.

For CloudForms-1.0, I believe the resolution was to blacklist the jbossas package. The 1.0 SE puddle appears free of repoclosure problems [1]

For CloudForms-1.0.1, the fix for this bug appears to be the candlepin repackaging and update. However, repoclosure problems remain in the current 1.0.1 puddle [2].

Since repoclosure problems remain, it appears this issue is not fixed.

Comment 8 Jay Greguske 2012-06-25 18:54:23 UTC
When candlepin was broken out into constituent builds I suspect there is a lot there that we do not actually need to ship, which is why the current repoclosure output is misleading. I'll look at what SAM has and bring in what we need.
