dhcp_release is currently used by openstack as indicated in bug 788485 These utils are generally useful to have I think anyway. I've handled the Fedora side with: http://pkgs.fedoraproject.org/gitweb/?p=dnsmasq.git;a=commit;h=389b9104 http://pkgs.fedoraproject.org/gitweb/?p=dnsmasq.git;a=commit;h=edbef005 It would be great if these could be included in RHEL 6.3, after which I can update the EPEL openstack package. Note the patches above create a new subpackage, which minimizes and simplifies dependencies, but will require a reimport into package wrangler I think?
dnsmasq-2.48-6.el6 is built in rhel-6.3-candidate and includes a new subpackage dnsmasq-utils similar to the one found in Fedora builds Summary : Utilities for manipulating DHCP server leases Description : Utilities that use the standard DHCP protocol to query/remove a DHCP server's leases. /usr/bin/dhcp_lease_time /usr/bin/dhcp_release /usr/share/man/man1/dhcp_lease_time.1.gz /usr/share/man/man1/dhcp_release.1.gz There should be no noticeable change in dnsmasq-2.48-6.el6 compared to dnsmasq-2.48-5.el6 Daniel
