Description Justin Ross 2012-12-07 18:47:24 UTC
QMF 1 is now superceded by the QMF 2 API. QMF 1 is not ABI-stable, and no one should use it.

Comment 1 Justin Ross 2012-12-07 18:49:01 UTC
Ted, what are the namespaces of the QMF 1 APIs?

Comment 2 Ted Ross 2012-12-07 18:53:15 UTC
(In reply to comment #1)
> Ted, what are the namespaces of the QMF 1 APIs?

qpid::management
qpid::console

Note that internal to the qpid broker, there are some definitions in qpid::management that are not to be deprecated as they support both v1 and v2 protocols.

Comment 3 Joshua Wulf 2012-12-12 06:47:05 UTC
Added a note to the QMF section:

"Red Hat Enterprise Messaging supports Qpid Management Framework version 2. QMFv2 offers a number of benefits over QMFv1, including the ability to send QMF messages between nodes in a cluster and across federated links. For more information on QMFv2, refer to the Apache Qpid QMFv2 Project Page.

QMFv1 calls are possible in Red Hat Enterprise Messaging, but they are not recommended. QMFv1 is deprecated and may be removed in a future release."

Comment 5 Leonid Zhaldybin 2013-02-01 11:16:03 UTC
The Messaging Programming Reference book does not contain any references to the deprecated QMF API version 1. The new note in the QMF section concerning QMF versions looks good.

-> VERIFIED
