Description of problem: rpmrebuild fails with the message "error: incorrect format: invalid field width" Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): rpmrebuild-2.8-1.fc18.noarch How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. run "rpmrebuild <package>", eg "rpmrebuild patch" Actual results: [trav@localhost Downloads]$ rpmrebuild patch error: incorrect format: invalid field width result: /home/trav/rpmbuild/RPMS/x86_64/patch-2.6.1-14.fc18.x86_64.rpm Expected results: A new rpm is built Additional info: * The problem also occurs when using the --package flag to rebuild directly from an existing rpm file. * I have tested with a few fedora packages and a few 3rd party packages and they all seem exhibit the same problem. * May be related to https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=881835 * I have updated to rpm-4.10.2-1.fc18.x86_64 from updates-testing which doesn't resolve the problem (not sure if the problem is rpm or rpmrebuild, but it seemed potentially related).
Hi, Thanks for the bug report, I am going to send this bug upstream, and see if the devs can look into it a bit.
Thanks, I should also have mentioned that the package (ie result:) does in fact get created with all the expected metadata/tags, but it contains no files.
