Not sure what caused this, but 'yum reinstall polkit polkit-gnome' could hopefully help. How did you install/update F18 ?
Thanks from the heart. I tried to follow the instructions and the reinstallation was regularly. I would add that with the hp-check the terminal suggests to disable Selinux to use plugins for printers and fax functions. If you could disable it partially i would consider this possibility. Otherwise i have the greatest esteem the work done on Fedora for the safety and i prefer print faxes and send them with the multifunction (even if more expensive for me to paper and toner). Really meanwhile thanks again!
