I think texlive-cm-lgc and ctan-cm-lgc-fonts seem to come from the same source. So seems texlive-cm-lgc should obsolete tex-cm-lgc. But it is kind of bad still to have ctan-cm-lgc-fonts around if its content is really the same as texlive-cm-lgc: have you thought about providing texlive fonts under /usr/share/fonts too in some way or cases?
Hi Jens, the problem is that TeX fonts aren't shared with the rest of Fedora due to not so feasibly designed font packages policies in Fedora. The main problem is that it has to be just one definition of font subpackage per spec. This doesn't align well with texlive where everything is build just from one spec. I wouldn't really obsolete the ctan-cm-lgc-fonts to let Fedora users use them in non-texlive way. Not sure about tex-cm-lgc but I'm pretty sure it's a duplicity which should be obsoleted.

Yup. I've updated the dependency generator to automatically obsolete tex-cm-lgc + found couple of others that will be obsoleted as well: tex-kerkis ex-simplecv Thanks for pointing this out!
ctan-cm-lgc-fonts-0.5-21.fc18 has been submitted as an update for Fedora 18. https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/ctan-cm-lgc-fonts-0.5-21.fc18

Maybe there should be some changes then in the Fonts Guidelines perhaps? It seems simpler if texlive could just generate *-fonts subpackages for Fedora at the same time as the texlive subpackages though it would make things more complicated for you I suppose... Anyway I am posting to fonts list just to point this out and hear opinions there too.
Package ctan-cm-lgc-fonts-0.5-21.fc18: * should fix your issue, * was pushed to the Fedora 18 testing repository, * should be available at your local mirror within two days. Hello, I am the maintainer of both ctan-cm-lgc-fonts and ctan-kerkis-fonts. It seems that texlive-cm-lgc with the new obsoletes information has not been built yet, so currently installs and upgrades are broken (bug #909439). So, please hold off the update, until texlive gets updated first (or simultaneously) to accomodate this change. Thanks
Hi Sarantis, yes, the new texlive has not yet been built. Assuming you are the package maintainer for cm-lgc-fonts? If yes, then there is no need to release update for cm-lgc-fonts it as texlive will handle it automatically upon next update. Thanks!
Please avoid dependency error on stable branches any time and push dependent packages at once, not on the next update, thank you....
I unpushed the ctan-cm-lgc-fonts-0.5-21.fc18 and ctan-kerkis-fonts-2.0-27.fc18 from f18 updates-testing until there is a texlive update ready. I think in this particular case they could also be pushed after texlive but they could also be pushed together indeed. If you want to do that Jindrich then I will delete the pending updates from Bodhi. Sorry Sarantis - I thought you had touched the packages in a while but I should have contacted you first to let you know about this. The real reason behind this update is that the 2 packages currently FTSBS because current stable texlive no longer provides texlive-texmf (macros.tex), and then I realised that texlive now provides the tex fonts anyway...
