Description Jonathan Rioux 2013-02-18 01:45:12 UTC

lspci -vvnn

Description of problem:

The Dell XPS 12 touchpad is acting crazy on a fully updated Fedora 18 using 3.7.6-201.fc18.x86_64

I think it's related to bug 799564 and I tried the steps explained in that bug report, without any success :

On the 3.7.4 kernel, the cursor wasn't show (trackpad not recognized but going smoothly)
On the 3.7.6 kernel, the cursor is shown, but the trackpad is recognized on half the « strokes » (and it's going everywhere on the screen, making it basically unusable).

I included the following outputs :

#lspci -vvnn
#lsusb -vv

Thank you so much!

That sounds like it might help. There might be other commits in the 3.9 tree that also make things better. We'll dig through soon.

Same for me. I got my XPS 12 and Trackpad is acting weired. I tried the patch from the link against 2.8.2.201 from koji, no change so far.

Please test this out when it finishes building.

Hello Josh,

I'll be able to test extensively later tonight, but after installing kernel-3.8.2-208.4.fc18, my touchpad correctly works. I have all the options I was expecting in the control panel as well.

Please let me know if you need any further information.

Comment 6 Josh Boyer 2013-03-12 14:24:20 UTC
Thanks for testing. I've added the patch to the F17 and F18 branches in Fedora git. It will be included in the next official update.

Comment 7 Christian Kalkhoff 2013-03-12 17:45:46 UTC

Running 3.8.3-203.fc18.x86_64, I still see the touchpad identified as an ImPS/2 device.
