Comment 2 Martin Magr 2013-05-10 09:38:51 UTC
I've implement possibility to change nova network manager and left FlatDHCPManager as default, Packstack users can now change it to VlanManager if they would like to.

Comment 7 Bruce Reeler 2013-10-09 05:37:04 UTC
NEEDINFO for Martin Mager.

When I did an install of 4.0,
after the prompt:
"Enter the IP address of the Nova Network service [10.64.15.234] : "
I got the prompt:
"Enter the Nova network manager [nova.network.manager.FlatDHCPManager] :"

I assume this prompt was included due to this bug fix?
If so, it is confusing because other prompts have the form:
"Enter the XYZ option [option1|option2|optin3] [defaultoption] :"

e.g. "Enter the Cinder backend to be configured [lvm|gluster|nfs] [lvm] :"

but in this prompt, "Enter the Nova network manager [nova.network.manager.FlatDHCPManager] :"
there do not appear to be options separated by bars (for example shouldn't VlanManager and FlatDHCPManager be mentioned as options?), and there is no stated default.

Please let me know if I am missing something here. Thanks.

Comment 8 Martin Magr 2013-10-09 13:24:53 UTC
First of all it's Magr. But Mager is still better than when you switch character 'e' for 'o', because it would be insult in Czech ;).

Value in [] is the default you are looking for. This parameter is not implemented as parameter with options. Value is checked with regular expression and allowed value has pattern "nova.network.manager.[a-zA-Z]+Manager". Currently implemented managers are FlatDHCPManager, FlatManager and VlanManager.

Thanks Martin. I'll write that up in the instructions.
Apologies for misspelling your surname!

Comment 13 Ami Jeain 2013-11-17 06:20:53 UTC
regression testing using packstack has passed.
Nova-network is not in the scope of Havana QA test cycle
