Description of problem: the Antlr 3.4 C runtime shipped by Fedora has bugs that cause MySQL Workbench to crash inside ANTLR code (specifically when autocompletion is used). Start typing query 4. Wait for auto-completion to kick-in Actual results: Crash at: getParent (tree=0x3686990) at src/antlr3commontree.c:506 506 return & (((pANTLR3_COMMON_TREE)(tree->super))->parent->baseTree); (gdb) p ((pANTLR3_COMMON_TREE)(tree->super))->parent $6 = (pANTLR3_COMMON_TREE) 0x0 Expected results: No crash, autocompletion appears. Additional info: Apply the patches from https://github.com/antlr/antlr3/pull/43 to the antlr C runtime to fix the relevant bugs.
