Description of problem:
I am trying to run ejabberd with PAM authentication, but SELinux shoots down PAM-related machinery
during client authentication.

I have the following in my /etc/ejabberd/ejabberd.conf:

SELinux is preventing /usr/lib64/ejabberd/priv/bin/epam from 'connectto' accesses on the unix_stream_socket /run/dbus/system_bus_socket.

If you believe that epam should be allowed connectto access on the system_bus_socket unix_stream_socket by default.
Then you should report this as a bug.
You can generate a local policy module to allow this access.
Do
allow this access for now by executing:
# grep epam /var/log/audit/audit.log | audit2allow -M mypol
# semodule -i mypol.pp
