Hi Sangu, the difference you see is the difference between old Freetype CFF engine and the new Adobe CFF engine (otf fonts). The switch happened in 2.4.12. You can find related posts here: http://lists.nongnu.org/archive/html/freetype-devel/2013-05/msg00000.html http://blogs.adobe.com/typblography/2013/05/adobe-contributes-cff-rasterizer-to-freetype.html http://google-opensource.blogspot.cz/2013/05/got-cff.html From my POV this is not a bug. Regards Marek
The rendering of Cantarell is noticeably fuzzy, and worse in thunderbird for example has different heights for bold and non bold items, resulting in text jumping around as you navigate over emails (changing them from unread to read). This is a bug IMHO and should be fixed in the CFF engine or at least moved to gnome, where a different default font should be chosen.
