Description spital 2014-04-22 15:47:44 UTC
Description of problem:

trying dnf, it does not show updates, but yum does

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

dnf 0.4.20

Steps to Reproduce:

dnf update

Actual results:

dnf shows nothing to do, but yum update shows 100 MB to update

Expected results:

dnf should work

Additional info:

this helped:

dnf clean all
dnf makecache
dnf update

possible cause : Installed on minimal fedora, possibly no automatic cache updates, simple dnf makecache did not help

reopened, because I do not think
"DNF doesn't say you need root rights to run dnf update"
has anything to do with
"dnf does not show updates, but yum does".

I ran it as root of course.

Sorry, wrong bug. This is rather a dupe of bug 1046355.

reopened because I said "I ran it as root of course"

"dnf does not show updates, but yum does" has nothing to do with

"incosistentupdates list - dnf update - compared to - sudo dnf update"

it must be amazing stuff they give people in Red Hat ;)

Sorry, looks like we don't have an original bug for this yet. Anyway, what you are seeing is the expected behavior, please see the document Tim links in comment 5.
