Description of problem: trying dnf, it does not show updates, but yum does Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): dnf 0.4.20 Steps to Reproduce: dnf update Actual results: dnf shows nothing to do, but yum update shows 100 MB to update Expected results: dnf should work Additional info: this helped: dnf clean all dnf makecache dnf update possible cause : Installed on minimal fedora, possibly no automatic cache updates, simple dnf makecache did not help

reopened, because I do not think "DNF doesn't say you need root rights to run dnf update" has anything to do with "dnf does not show updates, but yum does". I ran it as root of course.
