Discussed at 2013-08-28 blocker review meeting [1]. This is accepted as an Alpha blocker, because it violates the following F20 alpha release criterion: "The installer must be able to complete an installation to a single disk using automatic partitioning." If you haven't downloaded TC3 yet, don't waste your time. It still has anaconda 20.9.1. The fix for this problem is in 20.10.1. I guess communication just got crossed. The new version is on koji, in fact there is a 20.10.2 out there. I might try downloading it and rebuilding the iso with the new version. Or I might just wait for it to get fixed.

Finally this did not happen with TC5.
No issues with TC5 on this across multiple installation attempts. Everything proceeds as normal.
TC5 does not get this error anymore. Looks like anaconda 20-11.1 fixed it as it said it would. Unfortunately, while this bug seems to be fixed, TC5 failed every time with bug BZ 1004846.

I currently have F19 installed to sda1 which is formatted with XFS. I have no need for swap or boot so just have xfs taking up the entire ssd. If in the future i have a need to expand the drive I will buy a new ssd and use my 1337 skills to format it and move data. I do have a dvd rom installed, but it is empty.
