I recently did a network install of RedHat 6.2 using the text-based installer program. When prompted for lilo boot label, I entered "redhat 6.2". The system would not reboot from the hard driving, hanging at the words: "LI" I rebooted using a boot floppy. The lilo.conf file as built by installer read: boot=/dev/hda map=/boot/map install=/boot/boot.b prompt timeout=50 default=redhat 6.2 image=/boot/vmlinuz-2.2.14-5.0 label=redhat 6.2 read-only root=/dev/hda6 Running /sbin/lilo produced: Syntax error near line 8 in file /etc/lilo.conf Changing the lilo conf file so I used "redhat_6.2" worked for running lilo and for booting. installed Redhat
