From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 Galeon/1.2.7 (X11; Linux i686; U;) Gecko/20030131 Description of problem: The netstg2.img is 12 MB. It takes a while to download this file, even with broadband connections. It would be nice to have a progress meter. Currently, it is easy to think that the install simply failed, or hung, as the file is transferred to a file descriptor. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): anaconda: core 1 How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Start net install 2. Select a mirror 3. Watch the "retrieving netstg2.img" portion Additional info:
Will consider as time allows.
Passing on for Fedora Core 2.

Hi, any progress on this feature? It is a kind of annoy for users in places like China, because there is usually no fast ftp/http mirror to use. It took something like half of hour to download stage2.img file. Without any progress information, those users are suffering from bad user experiences.
This has been implemented in Rawhide. Please give it a try and let us know if you have any problems.
